Another tip, in the vein of my Marketing filter. Speed up Chrome…
Step 1: Go to Chrome’s ”Preferences” then “Settings”
Step 2: Go to “Show Advanced Settings”
Step 3: Go to “Content settings…” under “Privacy”
Step 4: Check “Click to play” under “Plug-ins”
Step 5: Enjoy a faster web.
Flash isn’t “bad”, but its use on web pages slows down your experience. 95% of the time, you don’t need to preload Flash content. This allows you to choose, “Yes, I want to see this Flash content”.

Best Idea Ever
Take Crap Out Of Your Inbox
1. Create a filter that contains “unsubscribe”
2. Label this filter “Marketing” or “Advertising” or “Not Important Enough To Distract Me”
3. Auto archive it and mark as read
4. Go an entire day not being sidetracked by the (1) in your inbox that is just some bullshit.
5. Check the “Not Important Enough To Distract Me” label whenever you feel like it OR when you wanna spend some dough on J Crew and need a discount code.
You might have to filter some one-off marketing emails that are tricky and won’t use the word “unsubscribe” but that’s easily done from the email view in Gmail (“Filter messages like these”).
This is of course for stuff you don’t want to unsubscribe from because you might actually care about the product, service, or organization. If you don’t, JUST UNSUBSCRIBE!

“When you tour, you have to do a lot of things you don’t want to do. You have to be willing to make a whole bunch of records that you have no idea how to get rid of. You drag them around with you in whatever vehicle you can piece together. Go play shows for negative thirteen dollars. You hope you sell a couple of 7”s and maybe the next time you come back, more people will come out and you’ll sell some more records.”
